Rancho Cotate Invitational

Today (Sep. 6) kicked of the 2002 Cross Country season at the
Rancho Cotate Invitational.

Some very fast times were turned in over the 2.75 mile course.
Montgomery junior Matt Fitch tied Jordan Kinley's time of 14:24
to move to =3rd best ever behind only Steve Laurie's 13:58 course
record and State Champion Celedonio Rodriguez's 14:07.
Teammate junior K.C. Cody moved to next spot on the all-time for
this Invitational with his 14:30 mark.
Looks like a great battle this year between Montgomery and Santa Rosa
as both teams put their top 5 in the top 20 here.

Junior Phyliss Blanchard's (Rancho Cotate) time of 15:49 moved her
one second ahead of Jenny Aldridge. Aldridge had the 3rd best mark
ever in this meet.
Only National Champions Julia Stamps 14:58 and Sara Bei 15:35 are faster.
After those four only State Champion Trina Cox 16:06 is faster than
Carrillo's sophomore Amy Robinson (16:26) was today.
Montgomery lead by junior Kim Conley (16:43) had 8 of the top 12 spots.
