AT SONOMA

Cool and windy weather conditions at Shantz Track, not great for running events,
but just right for throwing the discus. Two empire best marks were set at
Sonoma Valley High School. Dane Krogstad of EM threw the discus 173' 9 and
Sonoma's Melissa Van Paris broke the school record set in 1985 of 124'5 ½ held
by Stacy Meyers with a throw of 127'8. Melissa now leads all throwers in the
Redwood Empire and is in the top ten of the North Coast Section.
