Shepherd (W) 21:27 AT KELSEYVILLE On a hot afternoon in Kelseyville, the Lower Lake Boys and the Kelseyville Girls proved to be the top Lake County squads. In the boy's race, Alejandro Serrano a Kelseyville junior ran away from the field with a fine time of 18:29 for the 3.1 mile course. That was just 46 seconds off the course record set by Kelly Clark of Willits in 2002. While Serrano came away with the individual crown, it was the Trojans of Lower Lake with only 28 points who were victorious in the team competition. Paul Morse with a solid 19:29 led a group from Lower Lake who finished 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Mike Perez (20:32), Edward Drake (21:49), and PJ Focose (21:58) provided the wave of blue in the 4-6 spots. Jonathan Lloyd (19:49) from Kelseyville in 3rd was the only disruption in the wall of blue. Middletown's Brad Morris (22:22) finished 7th and secured the final All Lake County 1st Team award. Clear Lake's top runner Brian Brandon (22:34) placed a respectable 9th. In the girls race, veteran Jennifer Keithly (22:43) of Kelseyville led her squad to the County title with a score of 31 points. Kelseyville also had two other runners on the All Lake County 1st team with Chelsea Black (24:16) in 3rd and Carly Stockman (24:54) in 5th. A duo from Middletown, 2nd place Julia Malvino (24:09) and 6th place Colleen Campbell (25:14, as well as a duo from Lower Lake, 4th place Michelle McMullen and 7th place Wanda Perkins rounded out the Girl's first team.
