2003 Pole Vault Summit

Junior Matt Tillinghast competing for his club Soul Air improved his indoor best with a vault of 14-4. Last year at this meet he cleared 13-6 before going on to clear 14-9 for Montgomery in the outdoor season. The Empire's indoor record is 15-6 by Petaluma's Rene Loraine in 1995. The 14-4 mark also moves him to second on the All-Time Junior list behind Loraine. Matt holds the Sophomore (14-9) and Freshman (12-6) records. Loraine holds the Senior and All-time at 15-9. Casa Grande Senior Michael Sullivan made a hugh improvement destroying his PR from 2002 at 13-0 with a 14-3 clearance to win his division. Sullivan was SCL Champ last year at 13-0 and matched that height again at NCS MOC meet. Only two SCL vaulters have ever gone higher. Adams did 9-4 1/2 at this meet last year. Adams last year cleared 11-3 outdoors with Flores clearing 11-4.
