CARRILLO RUNNERS ON A ROLL

The first step into the postseason for cross country athletes are league championships.

Individual favorites include the Pumas' Amy Robinson, who always runs well at Spring Lake, and Kristen Sanzari.
Leanne Fogg has been running well and coach Danny Aldridge says there's a chance his runners could wind up 1-2-3 on Friday.
``We've got three strong front-runners and Fogg is closing the gap,'' Aldridge said.
The Carrillo boys are ranked sixth in the state and are led by Michael Brew and Alex Wolf-Root.
The clear favorite in the boys NBL race is Piner's Dawit Tesfasilassie, ranked 40th in the state.
Both Carrillo teams are trying for second consecutive NBL titles, and the Puma girls are going after their third title
in four years.
JV races begin at 2 p.m. at Spring Lake; varsity girls start at 3 p.m.; and varsity boys at 3:30 p.m.
