EX-PUMA WINS PAC-10 DECATHLON

Jake Arnold (Maria Carrillo) won the Pac-10 decathlon title and will compete in the NCAA Nationals in
Sacramento in June.
Arnold, a junior at University of Arizona who was named Pac-10 Athlete of the Week, started the second
day of competition in Eugene, Ore., 77 points out of the lead but finished in first by 484 points, ending
up with a personal best of 7,619.
"I was worried after hurting my calf in the 400, but I was able to finish every event," said Arnold. "I
had no PRs, but I was consistent."
Arnold had the best marks in four of the 10 events and automatically qualified for the NCAA championships
with his score, No. 6 on Arizona's all-time list.
