JACKSON & KEYES QUALIFY TO RUN IN EMPIRE MEET Elsie Allen sprinter Josh Jackson won his injury hardship runoffs in both the 200 and 400 meters Tuesday at Montgomery and qualified to run in Saturday's Redwood Empire meet at San Marin High in Novato. Jackson was unable to compete in last week's North Bay League Championship meet because of a hamstring strain and then had to have a runoff against fifth-place finishers, the last spots for qualifying for the Redwood Empire meet. ``He didn't have any problems,'' said Jackson's coach, Robert Gray. Jackson, a senior who holds this season's Empire bests in the 200 and 400, ran a 50.8 to win the 400 and an hour later ran a 23.6 to win the 200. Track and field competitors hoping to reach the state meet move on from the Redwood Empire meet to the NCS Meet of Champions May 26-27 at Berkeley High. The top four qualifiers in each event at MOC qualify for the state meet, which be held at Cerritos College in Norwalk June 2-3. Mikayla Keyes of Casa Grande also won all three of her hardship runoffs at Healdsburg High. Keyes can now compete in the 100, 200 and Long jump. Her winning long jump was 15-11 against Kate Ferland of Analy who jumped 15-8 3/4.
