Carrillo runners sweep titles at Cal Poly meet

The Maria Carrillo boys and girls cross country teams both won Division III titles at 
the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo on Saturday. 

The girls' team, ranked among the top 10 in the state, finished first among all three 
divisions led by Lauren Curtin, who finished the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 42 
seconds. Curtin, who set the course record at Windsor's Foothill Park on Wednesday, 
finished first overall among 134 runners.

Cara Curtin finished fifth overall and Kelly O'Leary was sixth.

Maria Carrillo, which had the top nine runners in Division III, beat runner-up Azusa 15-59.

The Maria Carrillo boys' team was led by Nathan Huckeba (16:05), whose time was the 
best in Division III and ranked fifth overall in a field of 187.

Huckeba also set a course record at Foothill Park this week. Alex Hartz finished third 
in Division III and 15th overall.

The Pumas finished fifth overall in the 20-team field. In the six-team Division III 
field, they beat runner-up Claremont 29-62.
