Vikings' Rich sets all-time discus record By PRESS DEMOCRAT Montgomery senior Corrine Rich set an all-time Redwood Empire best throw in the discus Wednesday at a North Bay League meet at Cardinal Newman. Rich threw the discus 136-feet, 4 inches to break Milissa Van Paris’ record of 135-4, set in 2004. Van Paris of Sonoma broke the 1999 mark of Montgomery’s Tia DeSoto, who threw the discus 134-8. Rich, also an outstanding volleyball player, reached the state meet last year in the shot put. Her best in the shot is 40-6¾. She also won the shot Wednesday with a Empire season best of 40-0. Rich was First Team All-Empire in 2007 with these marks
