I rarely get the chance anymore to do research on past track marks that
may have been missed but recently I had such a chance and found a good one.

Here are some records I found lately on women's Steeplechase.

Back in March of 2009 I listed that former Montgomery star Sara "Bei" Hall
had broken the best time ever by an Empire runner in the 3,000m women's
Steeplechase in her debut race.
Hall had run 10:10.56 at the Stanford Invitational on 3/27/09.
That mark was the best I knew of surpassing former Ukiah great
Shelby Leland who while at Columbia University ran a 10:36.54 in 2006.
Hall's mark was the 24th fastest in the US that year.

Recently I found a better mark by Santa Rosa HS great Trina Cox.
Cox competing for Abilene Christian who ran 10:05.19 on 4/27/2006 in
Philadelphia at the Penn Relays.
Cox's mark was the 12th fastest in the US that year.
So sorry about that Trina but now you can be recognized as Empire record holder.

Now that record may not last long as former Maria Carrillo runner Jacqui Wentz
just ran 10:05.64 on June 24th at the US Nationals.
