North Bay League

Notes on NBL meet by Jim Crowhurst

Masi's 1:55.30 800 is the Empires 11th best ever and the fastest since
1991 when Chris Gaston of Newman ran 1:54.80.

I'm sure glad for Automated timing. Cho beating Arnold in 110HH and Leachman
over Gabler in the 100 both by .02 seconds would have been hard to call without.
Leachman's win's are a first for an Elsie Allen girl.

Carrillo girls should be excited about fourth title in four years but boys
first ever should make coaching staff happy. Their 3:27.77 relay win fastest in
NBL finals since 1991. Carrillo can tie Santa Rosa girls at 11 (88-97)if they
win next 7.

Girls 1600
Eighth year winner under 5:00. Aldridge 4:58.92.
5th and final qualifier 5:14.07 would have won almost any year before 1995.
I believe 8 under 5:17, wow.
Aldridge 800, 1600 & 3200 triple includes her with Santa Rosa's Nika Horn 1990
and Petaluma's Lori Shanoff 1981 as only girls in NBL history to do that triple.
I'm pretty sure her times 2:16.18, 4:58.92 & 10:55.5 are the best ever for an
Empire girls in a single meet. Stamps & Bei may have better PR's but I don't
think either had a single meet with that quality.
Aldridge is the first NBL girl to ever win 800 all four years.

Emely Flores of Santa Rosa broke Montgomery's Amy Bei's 1999 meet record in the
PV of 10-6 with an 11-0 clearance.
Piner's Marcella Whitmore became the first girl in NBL history to win SP
four years with her 37-9 PR.

Matt Tillinghast (Montgomery) and Jake Arnold (Maria Carrillo) move to 5th all-
time spot in Empire with there 14-9 clearances. With brother Mike Tillinghast's
14-7 PR from Viking Classic the Tillinghast's move past the Gash brothers as the
best brother combo. The Tillinghast's are SOPHOMORES.

14-9 Matt T.
14-7 Mike T.
29-4

15-6 John G. 1984
13-9 Jim G. 1985
29-3
