Viking Track Classic

100
The top nine times shown here were all seasonal bests,
with the top five being a total rewrite of the Empire
Prep Bests. Weaver established himself as number one by
the slimmest of margins as only .04 separated the top four.
Weaver nipped teammate King. "Every single race between
us has been close." said Weaver.

Hurdlers probably need to be more upset than
anyone over Arnold breaking his wrist earlier this
year snowboarding. Arnold was nothing more than a
14 foot vaulter last year. The injury kept him
out of that event until recently. On how he got
into the hurdles. "I was messing around at practice
in the high's." said Arnold. That messing around
has turned him into one of the best hurdlers in
the NCS as he lead two others under 40 here
including an SCL lead by Cannon.

Totally awesome competition. Mike Tillinghast has
taken a back seat to his twin brother Matt since the
National competition in Buffalo back in 2000. Matt
has been on fire all year destroying the Empire
Sophomore class record but today in was Mike who stole
the glory. Arnold made it more than a brotherly affair
as he pushed the two with a 14-0 clearance and came
close at 14-7. Matt had a single miss through the
competition but that was all that Mike needed as he
cleared the 14-7 on his first jump like all the rest.
The two now share both the Montgomery school record
and the all-time Empire Sophomore record with their
new PR's. "I like how Mike can compete with me now,
more fun." said Matt "I'm sure I'll hear about it
later." Matt said referring to the lose.
"I feel like I have a chance mentally." said Mike
About being able to compete with his brother now.
